Summary: Departments provide a structured approach to organising different areas within a property, ensuring users can engage with the appropriate sections based on their requests. Establishing distinct departments allows information to be systematically organised, enabling accurate and efficient communication among property staff.
Permissions Required: These settings can only be changed by Location Admins or Brand Admins.
How to View the Departments Dashboard
1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand side menu.
2. Click on the Departments tab.
3. Choose the relevant Location.
4. You should now see the Departments Dashboard.
Departments Dashboard Overview
The dashboard consists of the following five columns:
Column | Description |
Status | Indicates whether the department is active, inactive, or the default one. |
Department Name | The custom name assigned to the department (e.g., "Restaurant"). |
Department Type | The general area the department belongs to (e.g., "Food & Beverage" for a restaurant). Department types can be assigned to multiple departments. |
Created On | Displays the date when the department was set up. |
Red Bin Icon | Clicking this icon will delete the department. |
💡 To change the default department, click the status bubble of the department you want to set as the default. It will save automatically.
⚠️ Please be wary of changing default department frequently as it will change which channel your incoming messages are received on.
⁉️ The default department cannot be deleted.
