Unsend Message Feature Overview
AXP Messaging now includes an “Unsend Message” feature, allowing users to quickly correct mistakes and prevent messages from being delivered. This helps ensure all communications remain accurate and professional.
This feature is also referred to as "delayed send," highlighting its ability to introduce a brief delay before message delivery.
Steps to Unsend a Message
Permissions: Unsending a message can only be used by users with a Converser role.
1. Send your message
After sending, the message will briefly display a “Sending” status. This indicates it has not yet been delivered.
2. Open the options menu
While the message is still in the “Sending” state, click the More Icon ⋮ menu next to the message.
3. Select “Unsend message”
Choose the “Unsend message” option from the menu.
4. Message is removed
The message will be immediately deleted and will not be delivered to the recipient.
NOTE: When unsending a message in a conversation you will see the countdown timer start.
✉️ This feature is currently turned off by default. To enable it, please contact the user who has an assigned brand admin role in Alliants and ask them to submit a request to their Customer Success Manager (CSM) to activate it. If you do not have an assigned CSM please contact success@alliants.app.
The activation applies at the Brand level, ensuring the configuration is consistent across all locations under the specified brand.
Steps to Setting the Message Delay Duration
Permissions: Length of message delay duration can be set by users on Alliants who have the Brand Admin role.
1. Go to Settings in the left hand side menu.
2. Click the Brand tab. It gives you a few moments to review and recall your message if necessary.
3. Click the tick box "Enable message delay".
4. Select the duration in the drop down "Message delay duration".
The duration is specified in seconds, allowing precise control over the delay period.
🚨 Visual Indicators: Please pay close attention to the "Sending" status. Once that changes, the message has been delivered. Admins will need to refresh to see the status update.
Once Sent, Cannot Be Unsent: Please remember that once a message has completed its grace period and is fully delivered, it cannot be unsent.
Troubleshooting Messaging Issues
If you encounter delayed or missing messages in AXP, follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Restart Your Device: Restart the device you use to access AXP. This can help clear temporary glitches.
Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: If you are using a web browser to access AXP, clear the cache and cookies. Then, fully close and reopen the browser before signing back into AXP.
These steps are effective in resolving issues caused by stale sessions or cached data, which can interfere with normal messaging behavior.
