Why Don't I Have Access to the Content Manager in AXP?

Explains why a user may not be able to access the Content Manager (CMS) in AXP, and what steps to take to get access granted. Covers role permissions, brand admin responsibilities, and how to request access.

Summary: If you can log in to AXP but cannot access the Content Manager, it is likely that your account has not been set up with the correct CMS permissions. Access to the Content Manager is managed by your Brand Administrator, who can update your role and grant the required access.

Permissions Required: Brand Admin (to grant access) / Location Admin (to request access)

Troubleshooting steps to follow

  1. Check your current role by clicking your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the CMS. Your role will be displayed there.

  2. If your role does not include CMS permissions, you will not be able to access the Content Manager even if you can log in.

  3. Contact your Brand Administrator and ask them to review your user permissions and add the Content Manager access you need.

  4. Your Brand Administrator can update your access by going to left panel, Settings → Users, finding your account, and updating your role or location permissions. The permission needs to include the property's name, such as "property role - {{your property's name}}".

  5. Once your permissions have been updated, log out and back in to CMS to apply the changes.

Important: The role needs to be a combination of admin and the property role, such as "Property Admin" & "Property Role - {{your property's name}} for a property admin to manage the content.

Common Questions

Q: I've been set up on AXP by my team, but I still can't access the Content Manager. Why?

A: Being added to AXP as a user doesn't automatically grant access to all areas of the platform. Content Manager access is a separate permission that must be configured by your Brand Administrator. Ask your Brand Admin to check your role and add the required CMS permissions.

Q: How do I know if I have the right role for Content Manager access?

A: Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of AXP. If your role is set to No Role, or does not include content permissions, you won't have access to the Content Manager. Your Brand Admin can update this for you.

Q: Who is my Brand Administrator?

A: Your Brand Administrator is typically someone in your organisation with admin-level access to AXP — often a manager or IT contact who set up the platform for your team. If you're not sure who this is, check with your line manager or the person who originally invited you to CMS.

Q: I am a Brand Administrator — how do I grant a user access to the Content Manager?

A: Go to Settings → Users, find the user's account, and update their role or location access to include Content Manager permissions. If you need help with this, contact the AXP support team.
