Summary: When a guest's loyalty or VIP status is first imported from your PMS, AXP creates a badge that appears on their profile. This article explains which integrations bring badge data into AXP, whether those badges update automatically when you make changes in your PMS, and how to update a badge name manually when needed.

How badge names are imported into AXP
When a guest profile is imported from your PMS for the first time, AXP reads the loyalty tier, VIP classification, or membership program data from the incoming payload and creates a badge on the guest profile.
The badge name is stored against the Membership Program in AXP — not against the individual guest. This means the name is shared across all guests who hold the same tier or classification.

Will a badge name update automatically if I change it in my PMS?
A: No. Badge names are only set the first time a badge is created in AXP. If the name of a loyalty tier or VIP level changes in your PMS, that change will not automatically flow through to AXP — even if a new profile import is triggered.
Under the hood, AXP looks up a Membership Program by its code. If one already exists with that code, it reuses the existing name without updating it.
⚠️ Important: Badge name changes on PMS won't automatically sync to AXP. This applies to all integrations.
🗒️ Note: For iReckonu, membership dates (e.g. expiry and sign-up dates) do update on every import. The badge name itself does not.
Common Questions
Q: Will a badge name change in AXP sync back to my PMS?
A: No. AXP does not push badge or membership data back to your PMS.
Q: How to update a badge name in AXP
A: If a badge name needs to be changed in AXP, a manual update is required. Please raise a Change Request to Alliants support team.
🚨 Alert: This change updates the Membership Program name across all guest profiles that hold this badge — it is not limited to a single guest. Confirm the new name is correct before raising the Change Request.
Q: What happens to existing profiles after a badge name is updated?
A: Once the Membership Program name is updated in Active Admin, all guests who hold that badge will immediately show the new name on their profile — no re-import is needed.
The badge itself (the code used between the guest profile and the membership program) is unaffected; only the displayed name changes.
Q: A guest's loyalty level changed in our PMS from Silver to Gold. Will AXP update automatically?
A: It depends on how the integration handles the import. Most integrations (HAPI, Shiji, Infor, Mews, HotSOS) will only update the badge when the profile is re-imported. For HAPI, the old badge is deleted and a new one is created on re-import — so the correct tier will appear as long as the Membership Program for "Gold" already exists in AXP. iReckonu is the most active here and will sync loyalty level changes on each profile update.
In all cases, the Membership Program name (e.g. the display label "Gold Member") will not change if the name was already set in AXP — only the tier code that links the profile to the program is updated.
Q: We rebranded our loyalty programme. How do we update the name across all our guests?
A: Please raise a Change Request to Alliants Support team, requesting to update the Membership Program. This will apply the new name to every guest profile that holds this badge immediately — no re-import or guest-by-guest update is needed.
Q: Can I update the badge name by having our PMS resend the profile?
A: No. Even if your PMS resends the profile with the updated name, AXP will not overwrite an existing Membership Program name. The update must be made manually done by Alliants support team.
Q: Which fields does AXP send back to my PMS when a profile is updated?
A: AXP syncs only contact details back to the PMS: email address, phone number, and address. Badge names, loyalty tiers, and membership program details are never pushed back to the PMS from AXP.
